Protecting the Vulnerable, Restoring Dignity
The Adult Protective Services (APS) Program provides intervention, investigation, and support for adults who are experiencing or at risk of abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Through close collaboration with community partners, APS works to safeguard the well-being and dignity of vulnerable individuals.
Services Overview
Older adults and individuals with disabilities are at increased risk of abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation. The APS Program responds to reports of mistreatment, conducting investigations to determine the nature and severity of the situation. Our trained specialists work closely with law enforcement, healthcare providers, and social service agencies to provide swift and effective intervention.
In addition to crisis intervention, APS provides Case Management Services, ensuring that affected individuals receive ongoing support, including housing assistance, medical care coordination, and financial protection. Our goal is to restore stability and prevent future instances of harm.
Education and prevention are also central to APS’s mission. We offer Community Awareness Campaigns to educate the public on recognizing signs of abuse and how to report suspected cases. By empowering individuals and professionals with knowledge, we help prevent abuse before it occurs. Through a comprehensive approach, APS works to protect society’s most vulnerable members and uphold their right to live with dignity and security.
